Interview with Patrick Hagen

Suzana Pimenta image consulting agency:
Do you think that taking care of one’s image is superficial nowadays?

Patrick Hagen:
When someone asks me why I like having a good look, appearing to be in great shape, dressing well, or having a pleasant attitude, I always give the same answer. It’s not just to please others, but first and foremost to give myself a certain confidence and to feel good about myself. I think it’s important to feel good and to project positivity.

In the various jobs I’ve had, I’ve always noticed that the care you put into your image adds value to the business. People will see, and think, that you also take particular care with their requests, their affairs. They’ll sense that same standard you hold yourself to, and they’ll expect the same in return.

This holds true for business leaders, but also for every link in the company’s chain. Today, as so many services and products become commonplace, it’s important to stand out or differentiate yourself through a strong, positive image.

Let’s not forget — and this is how nearly all of us function — that a first impression often stays etched in memory, for better… or for worse!
